ABOUT ME
Fábio Silva Cardoso graduated in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Lisbon in 2008, beginning his career as a collaborator at ASPMM Arquitectos in Torres Vedras, under the coordination of architects Alexandra Paiva and Esmeralda Martinho. In 2014, he began a new phase marked by various co-authorships and collaborations, in which he participated in projects of varying complexity and scale, including single-family and multi-family housing, healthcare (health centers, medical and veterinary clinics), and education (school facilities and preschool spaces), covering both licensing and execution phases. With solid experience also in the areas of construction – site management and supervision – and the real estate sector, he founded the multidisciplinary group Silva Cardoso – Arquitectura in 2022. In this group, he acts as the author and coordinator of architecture and construction projects, aiming to fulfill clients' requests creatively and competently, with a focus on modernity and ecology, pursuing sustainable and bioclimatic construction. His current focus is on new building and rehabilitation projects in the housing and service sectors, both nationally and internationally. Highlights include veterinary clinics in Oeiras and Sintra, single-family homes across Portugal from north to south, and in São Tomé. He is also dedicated to handling various legalization requests, which over the years have become a valuable source of learning and a means to strengthen the social relationship between architect and client.

A process that begins with a preliminary analysis and survey of existing buildings, to determine their viability for legalization under current legislation, for subsequent preparation of the legalization project – licensing with municipal services. Legalization projects can also be carried out simultaneously with requests for extensions or alterations, which are often necessary to make the desired legalizations viable.

Preparation of projects related to specialties, required for the licensing of building works or works without prior control, with the support of a team of engineers for the different areas – stability, supply, thermal and acoustic, HVAC and others.

Apoio na aquisição de imóveis ou terrenos, com análises prévias de viabilidade construtiva. Análise de imóveis existentes quanto ao seu grau de conservação e potencial arquitectónico para remodelação, reconstrução ou ampliação. Enquadramento de edificações novas ou existentes, no âmbito dos regulamentos vigentes relativos ao turismo – alojamento local, etc.

Realização de modelos tridimensionais simples ou com com renderização, com vista à criação de imagens de exposição e demonstração arquitetónica de projectos de edificação e loteamento, bem como para auxiliar a sua eventual promoção imobiliária.

Acompanhamento das obras de edificação – com ou sem autoria do projecto – para apoio à leitura de dos projecto, compatibilização entre especialidades e esclarecimentos de dúvidas. Elaboração de serviços de direção de fiscalização, em obras de edificação.

Levantamentos do existente com respetiva passagem para formato digital, no âmbito dos projectos de arquitectura para obras com ou sem controlo prévio. Elaboração de plantas de frações autónomas ou propriedades plenas existentes, para procedimentos de avaliação bancária ou registo predial.
